Bayern wanted a loan deal, but Chalobah wasn't interested and could have gone to Nottingham Forest

Mauricio Pochettino has put £500,000 of Chelsea's transfer budget towards a possible deal to sign Brentford and England striker Ivan Toney next January.

The summer transfer window has only recently closed but Chelsea are already looking at their transfer plans for next January. Ivan Toney, the Brentford striker, has become the subject of interest for the Blues, while rivals Tottenham Hotspur have also shown interest.

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea are considering Ivan Toney as a potential option for next January's transfer window. This figure could increase even further if Trevor Chalobah is sold and manages to make a permanent move to Bayern Munich.

However, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, Trevor Chalobah wanted to join Bayern but a deal could not be agreed before the summer window closed due to lack of time. However, Bayern could reconsider signing the 21-year-old next January.

According to Jacobs, Bayern would prefer to sign Chalobah on loan, despite Nottingham Forest having expressed interest in signing him. Chelsea's offer is £500,000 and if Bayern agree to pay that fee, then Chelsea could be offered the signing of Toni in a deal for Chalobah.

Ivan Toni is valued at £8 million and both Chelsea and Tottenham are vying for his signature, while Arsenal and Liverpool are also rumored to be interested. As a result, next January's transfer window could become an intriguing competition with Ivan Toni's future in the spotlight.
